Dr. Robert T. Stone, Jr

Dr. Stone is a board certified ophthalmologist who completed medical school at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1994 and his ophthalmology residency at UNC in 1998. He grew up in Wilson, N.C. and now lives in Cary. After practicing in Rocky Mount, N.C. for one year Dr. Stone joined Wake Ophthalmology in 1999. Dr. Stone completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia.


Dr. Christopher S. Rusinek

Dr. Rusinek is a board certified ophthalmologist who is fellowship trained in corneal disease and refractive surgery. Dr. Rusinek finished his fellowship at the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, and has been practicing in the triangle since 2006. Dr. Rusinek completed his residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and completed an internal medicine internship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He graduated in the top third of his class from Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Rusinek grew up in Plymouth, Michigan and earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Dr. Rusinek is dedicated to providing compassionate and quality eye care and welcomes new patients.

Dr. Michael W. Compton

Dr. Compton is a board certified ophthalmologist and native of Syracuse, New York. As his education and career have progressed he has marched south in search of more sunshine, a longer golf season, and less snow. He and his wife, Laura, a pediatrician, have called the Triangle region home since 2011. Dr. Compton earned his undergraduate degree from Villanova University and graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 2010. He remained at the University of Virginia for an Internship in Surgery and completed his ophthalmology training at the University of North Carolina in 2014, serving as Chief Resident from 2013-2014. In their free time, the Comptons enjoy exploring local farmer’s markets and hiking with their Border Collie.
